Wheels Magazine May 2006 Tyre Test Nine popular 235/45R17 tyres tested by Wheels Magazine. The expensive Toyos and cheap Linglongs were both outperformed by Federal and Maxxis tyres. BUT comfort, noise, wear, tramlining, performance when half worn - were not measured. |

LED torch - very handy I bought one of these for around $15 (ebay) delivered - use it all the time now - it's my first choice for a torch. I love how it's always pointing where I'm looking and it can click thru' different angles when on the ground. With some quality batteries it just lasts and lasts - bloody marvelous.. |

The UZZ32 has an hydraulic fluid activated suspension. Fluid is forced around the system and to the four shock absorbers by a pump. At the back of the Active pump is another pump bolted to it, this is the Power Steering pump, it is totally different to any of the other pumps on the 6 cylinder and V8's. by Steve Smith |

analyses. I wish I had superpowers so that I could evaluate oils and filters by powers of observation. But I still don't after lots of trying :( So I sent my used Penrite HPR10 engine oil to the lab to see what the professionals could tell me about my TRD oiled cotton air filter. |

Accumulator Active Soarers have piston accumulators that leak nitrogen and cause the dreaded suspension bounce. Here's one cut open with the faulty o-ring exposed before being re-built. |

Celsior Compliance The Celsior is now complied and registered. Changes include seat belts, intrusion bars, side mirror and fuel filler restrictor. Allow $1200. Some States don't need belt change now! |

V8 Timing Belt Change, and serpentine
belt change. We all have to have it done sooner or later. I had a crack at changing it myself. My UZZ32 is a bit different to regular V8's but most of it is the same. |
KUMHO ASX (KU21) Tyres. The budget Pirelli PZero? The low cost Michelin Pilot Preceda? Not as much grip - much much higher treadwear coefficient - quiet and steer very well. My new 16" rims needed some tyres and Kumho ASX tyres fit the bill. |

Active Suspension Computer Diagnostics Richard Ashcroft has a UZZ32 - after an alarm install the suspension wouldn't work! It was a loose plug! Here's the list of all the pinouts for the computer and range of standard values and problem locations.

V8 Engine Oil - Lab results - Two Mobil 1 oil analyses are back. The Mobil 1 did not protect the engine any better than any other oil over 5000 km. I don't care that the oil may have lasted longer - the crud still builds up and the filter still gets blocked - so 5000 km it will always be for me. The Mobil has been swapped for ULX-110 - a mineral oil. Haven't been able to measure a difference due to different oil filters. The Mobil 1 tested viscosity appears to be thicker than the specs - this is odd.

Cams aren't worth it by themselves (have hardly made a difference - depends how you dyno it). Let's see how they go with Tex's headers and fuel/timing changes - then we will have a better picture.
